Per-Occasion reminders

When editing an Occasion, choose whether it uses the global defaults, a custom reminder timing or no reminders. Changing an individual Occasion does not have to change the global default.

Apple Watch notification routing

The Watch does not run a separate duplicate Gift Journal reminder scheduler for v1.0. Notifications are routed through Apple’s system behaviour. See Apple Watch.

Widgets

The Gift Journal provides privacy-safe read-only widget surfaces such as:

  • Next Occasion;
  • Coming Up;
  • Event Readiness.

Widget snapshots are intentionally sanitised. They do not publish private Idea titles, Hint text, URLs, notes, prices or photos by default.

Tap a widget to deep-link into the matching app context when the platform supports the route.

Mac widgets

Native Mac widgets use a separate privacy-safe snapshot and can follow the Mac theme. macOS may also show iPhone widgets through Continuity; those belong to the iPhone installation and should not be confused with the native Mac widget provider.
